Released Time Bible Education

The legality of a Released Time program recognizes and reinforces the constitutionally protected right of parents to direct the religious education of their children. Released Time programs provide opportunities for public school children to be released during school hours, for off-premises attendance at Released Time classes on an entirely voluntary basis. Unlike Released Time programs, before school and after-school programs do not allow equal access for all children due to transportation problems and extra-curricular activities.

We know that most students no longer attend a church or youth group on a regular basis. Our goal is to reach youth where they are at through Biblical education in order to share a message of acceptance and purpose that strengthens our community.

We believe Released Time Bible education is the best way to show students their true identities which are found in Christ.

Locations

  • Celina currently is active in grades 5-6 as well as grades 9-12.

  • Our Parkway RTBE is available for students in grades 1-12.

  • We are excited to have our St. Mary’s RTBE this year and it’s available for grades 1-12.

  • Beginning in August of 2024, the 5th-7th grade students, with parental consent, will have the opportunity to participate in a Released Time Bible Education class. They will be walking from the school, with supervision, to the nearby church, Wapak First. In the classroom, we will be using an age-appropriate curriculum from Group Publishing called “LIVE”. We will be focusing on important Bible stories and how the students can apply the Bible to their lives. The goal of each class will be for each student to learn how God loves them, how to love God better and how to love other people.
